A Mediterranean Masterpiece: The 2025 Aphrodite Hills Team Cup Awaits

Where Ryder Cup Spirit Meets Mediterranean Splendour

As the golfing world turns its gaze to the storied fairways of Bethpage Black for the 2025 Ryder Cup, a different, yet equally passionate, theatre of golfing drama is set to unfold under the radiant Cypriot sun. From September 24-28, the Aphrodite Hills Resort, a crown jewel of Mediterranean sport, will host its own prestigious team championship—the Aphrodite Hills Team Cup—welcoming 28 teams of golfers from across Europe for a festival of competition, camaraderie, and world-class golf.

This is more than a tournament; it is an immersive experience. While the giants of the European and American teams battle across the Atlantic, competitors at Aphrodite Hills will forge their own legends on a course that carves its way through ancient olive groves and along cliffsides offering breathtaking vistas of the azure sea. The event captures the very spirit of the Ryder Cup—the nerve-shredding pressure of team formats, the eruption of joy for a partner’s clutch putt, and the shared stories that last long after the final putt drops.

A Championship for Every Golfer

The main event, a testament to the inclusive spirit of the game, will see 21 mixed teams of four—both professional and amateur male golfers—battle across four days of multi-format golf. Their skills will be tested in a captivating rotation of AM/AM, fiery fourball betterball, strategic greensomes, and the pure test of individual Stableford play. The ultimate victors will not only lift the coveted Aphrodite Hills Team Cup but also earn the honour of defending their title the following year with free entry.

Adding a layer of distinguished competition, a dedicated three-day Seniors Division for players aged 55 and over will feature seven teams vying for the esteemed Silver Division Trophy. Furthermore, rounding out a truly comprehensive event, a two-day Ladies Pairs Division ensures female golfers have a dedicated platform to showcase their talent and competitive fire.

Beyond the Fairways: A Resort in Celebration

The spectacle extends far beyond the emerald greens and meticulously manicured fairways of the acclaimed Cabell B. Robinson-designed championship course, itself proudly bearing the title of PGA National Cyprus. Each day will dawn with the opportunity for players to fine-tune their games at the comprehensive practice facilities, the morning air filled with the hopeful sound of striking irons.

Evenings will transition into celebration and connection. The week will be bookended by elegant opening cocktail receptions, where the clink of glasses mingles with the buzz of new friendships, and culminate in a triumphant gala awards dinner, where champions are crowned and memories are toasted under the stars.

An Unbeatable Mediterranean Offer

To commemorate this highlight of its sporting calendar, Aphrodite Hills Resort has curated an exclusive stay-and-play package, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the event. Rental apartments are available from an attractive rate of €153 per night for stays of four nights or more, offering a luxurious base from which to enjoy both the competition and the resort’s unparalleled amenities.

Miguel Girbes, Director of Golf & Sports at Aphrodite Hills Resort, shared his anticipation for the event: “The Aphrodite Hills Team Cup has cemented its place as a premier event in the Mediterranean golfing calendar. We are not just hosting a tournament; we are curating an experience. We take immense pride in delivering premium moments across all our sports, and the Team Cup—with its unique blend of intense competition, stunning scenery, and unforgettable social gatherings—truly embodies that commitment.

We cannot wait to welcome competitors from Cyprus and across Europe to create another chapter of history here.”

This September, the spirit of team golf finds its perfect home in the Mediterranean. It’s a chance to play where legends have played, to compete for more than a score, and to create stories that will be told for years to come.
