GameOn Ireland golf group is fast becoming national and international for inclusive golf. We are proud delighted to be the Kerry recipients of the Texaco Support for Sport Award this year. The funding will enable us to subsidise the golf coaching program for next year, provide essential equipment for the golfers/volunteer golf mentors, and continue developing the skills of each golfer.

We've also been successful in applying for a Golf Ireland inclusive hub grant this year and with this we have invited the Tralee Inspired group to take part in a 5 week programme of golf4all...

On a European level for the first time Ireland has sent a team to the European Team Championships for Golfers with disabilities and the team were victorious. This is an amazing achievement and is the result of the fantastic work being done through Golf Ireland's sub committee spearheading disability and inclusion in golf. You can read more here:

The inaugural EDGA (European Disabled Golf Association) Irish event is taking place on the 5th/6th July in Roganstown Golf Club, and there is a large entry of golfers from all over Europe registered. As a Golf Ireland Inclusive hub we have been asked to pen a brief welcome video to be played for these golfers, which we will capture this Thursday. We'll get the kids to introduce us "Game On golf club in Castlegregory Golf Club, on the Dingle Peninsula, Co. Kerry and we would like to welcome all of the golfers to Ireland, and we wish them the very best in the tournament".

We are part of a mini tournament being organised during the Open week, by the Els for Autism Foundation, Florida, (5,4,3,2,1) which is 5 countries (US, Canada, South Africa, England, Ireland), 4 participants, playing 3 holes, sponsored by 2 times Open winner Ernie Els, with 1 vision (to develop inclusive golf), which will take place on Wed. 13th July in Castlegregory at 6pm. This is a pilot and it is hoped that we will have more players & U12s playing in this event next year. For this year our representatives will be John Fok Seang, Kieran Murphy, Dylan Alder and Jack O'Connor, and if you are available on that evening to support, that would be great. The event will be captured on video and a montage will be created of the courses involved, together with an introductory welcome from Ernie Els.

We should hear later this week whether we are shortlisted for the National Lottery Good Causes next phase (reducing 189 entries to 35) and I'll let you know as soon as I do, fingers crossed! Since this was writen, I am delighted to say we have been nominated for the National Lottery Good Causes, lets hope.
