The Belfry overview
The Belfry is a fantastic 4-star venue set in 550 acres of beautiful Warwickshire countryside. In addition to its world-famous golfing facilities, The Belfry boasts a wide range of rooms and restaurants that will ensure your golfing break is of the highest quality.
Renowned for having held the prestigious Ryder Cup four times, The Belfry’s superb golf courses need no introduction. The Brabazon Course and the PGA National Course provide guests at The Belfry with the chance to follow in the footsteps of their golfing heroes, whilst the Derby Golf Course makes for a pleasant alternative to the two flagship layouts.
The world-renowned Belfry boasts 319 well decorated and elegant rooms, which range from the new signature rooms to the Manor House suites, many of which have stunning views of its golf courses and the surrounding countryside. There is now even more reason to book a golf break to The Belfry, following a £26 million major refurbishment of the resort in early 2014.

Did You Know
The Belfry has hosted the Ryder Cup four times (1985, 1989, 1993, 2002) which is more than any other venue in the world.
Golf courses at The Belfry
Host to a record four Ryder Cups and countless European Tour events, The Brabazon is a great test of parkland golf. Always in immaculate condition with fantastic greens, the drama tends to happen at the short par-4 10th hole or the enticing 18th. Both have become part of Ryder Cup folklore with Seve’s historic drive onto the 10th, Sam Torrance’s famous putt to win the Cup on 18 in 1985, and Christie O’Connor’s majestic 2-iron across the lake on that same final hole.
The PGA National is the only PGA branded golf course in England. A host to two European Tour Events, the golf course is well cared for all year round. The inland style of the PGA National Golf Course presents numerous challenges, including water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. Those that will triumph over the 18 holes will need great shot accuracy and a keen eye for reading the fast greens, making it a tough, but an enjoyable course for even the most consistent of golfers.
The inland links-style of the PGA National Course at The Belfry is home to numerous signature holes which leave golfers wanting to come back for more. None more so than the excellent 4th hole, a 394-yard par-4 doesn’t sound particularly intimidating on paper, however with numerous bunkers defending both the green and fairway, plus, a tight undulating green where three putts are common, its no wonder this hole has been picked out as the best.
The Derby Golf Course is often overshadowed by its more famous sister golf courses. However, the 6099 yards, par-70 is an enjoyable golf course and one that players of all standards can thoroughly enjoy with several water hazards and well-designed risk and reward holes. Although not the longest course, The Derby still requires you to think your way around. The Derby makes a nice change to The Brabazon and PGA National golf courses when visiting the Belfry for a golfing break.
